Cloughjordan is a small village in County Tipperary in the west of Ireland.
Guests traveling from the NY/NJ area will likely fly into Shannon (SNN) airport. It is approximately a 1 hours drive to Cloughjordan/Nenagh area. If you are flying from further away, or extending your stay before or after, it may make sense to research flights through Dublin (DUB) which is approximately 2 hours away. There are buses/trains to Nenagh from Dublin should you take that route!
Airports & Travel To Cloughjordan
Guests traveling from Newark can fly direct to Shannon airport (that’s what we would recommend!).
Car Rentals are Recommended if you plan on adventuring around County Tipperary in your downtime.
Valid U.S. driver’s licenses are all you need to rent a car in Ireland.
Remember that the Irish drive on the right side of the car and the left side of the road! ;)
Shannon International Airport
(SNN)
Shannon is one of the closest airports to our wedding venue and a great option if you're planning to head straight to Nenagh or Cloughjordan. It's also a convenient starting point for exploring Ireland's beautiful west coast, including Galway, the Cliffs of Moher, and the Wild Atlantic Way.
Travel Time by Car: ~1-1.5 hours
Cork International Airport (ORK)
Travel Time by Car: ~2 hours
Cork is another great option, especially if you're planning to explore southern Ireland before the wedding. Cork City is known for its fantastic food scene, colorful streets, and lively pubs. It's also a wonderful starting point for visiting Kinsale, West Cork, and the scenic southern coastline.
Dublin International Airport (DUB)
Dublin is Ireland's largest airport and generally offers the widest selection of international flights. If you're planning to spend a few days in the capital, it's a great place to start! Dublin is full of history, music, cozy pubs, and plenty of Guinness. From Dublin, you can rent a car or take public transportation toward Cloughjordan.

Travel times are approximate and based on driving. Allow extra time for traffic, particularly around Dublin.
Taxis & Airport Transfers
If you're heading directly to Cloughjordan or Nenagh from any of these airports, we highly recommend booking your airport transportation in advance. We're celebrating in the beautiful Irish countryside, where taxis and rideshare services aren't quite as readily available as they are in larger cities!
You can arrange a transfer through one of the local taxi companies listed below. For guests flying into Shannon, you can also visit the Shannon Airport website to prebook a taxi.
If you're traveling with other wedding guests, consider coordinating your arrival times and sharing a transfer to save on costs.
Taxis & Rideshare Apps in Ireland
Ireland has a few familiar taxi-booking apps, although they work a little differently than rideshare services in the United States.
Uber – Operates primarily through licensed taxi drivers in Ireland, with better availability in larger cities.
FREENOW – A popular taxi-booking app, particularly useful in cities like Dublin, Cork, and Galway.
Bolt – Another taxi-booking option, although availability varies by location.
These apps can be helpful when exploring Ireland's cities, but please don't rely on finding an Uber or other rideshare service in Cloughjordan or the surrounding countryside. For airport transfers and travel outside major cities, we recommend booking transportation in advance.
